There is Always Something to Be Thankful For
Sometimes we’re all so busy “living life” we forget just how good we have it.
But, there are a ton of things we should all be grateful for.
Gratitude even when you don’t have much can bring peace to your life. And outside of water, shelter, food, and our health, you don’t need much.
So be grateful for what you have. And when you are:
- You’ll sleep better at night
- Perform better at work
- And have more positive life experiences
Just know there is always something to be thankful for. Things money can’t buy.
And if you’d like to learn what some of those things are, here are 10 below. These are just a handful of things the average person can feel grateful for.
And they don’t cost a thing.
1. A Loving Dog
Let’s face it, pets are part of the family, and anyone who thinks otherwise well… they’re not pet owners.
Having a loving dog to come home to each day is a joy not everyone experiences. If you’re one of the people who do, consider yourself lucky.
It’s not just dogs, but cats and many other animals as well. Animals bring out the best in people.
The world just wouldn’t be the same without them.
2. The Sunshine
We all know the sun is going to shine every day, but still, it’s something to be grateful for.
After all, without sunshine, plants and flowers wouldn’t grow. Therefore the world wouldn’t be nearly as sunny and colorful as it is.
The next time the sun shines through your windows, notice the rays of light as they come inside.
Notice the colors that come with those rays and be grateful for the sunshine. Because there is always something to be thankful for.
3. The Choices We Have When Watching Television
Not everyone on the planet has access to as many movies and television shows as the modern world does.
Whether you want to binge-watch your favorite television show or spend the evening being a couch potato and watching movie after movie, you now have tons of options.
With the way TVs are made now, you can even go back and watch shows and movies from previous seasons and years.
When it comes to having something good to watch, there is no shortage of movies and television programs. They all make life a little easier, don’t they?
4. All Types of Music
One thing is certain: if you can hear, you should be grateful for the gift of music.
Music soothes the soul.
It helps good memories become even better ones. But can you imagine what the world would be like without music?
I sure can’t. Plus, you don’t have to be a musician yourself to appreciate good music. Whether you love:
- Hip-hop
- Reggae
- Country
- Rock
- Classical
Or even something else, sitting back and listening to music is the perfect way to forget about your troubles for a while. All while relaxing your woes away.
Music is and will always be a reminder that there is always something to be thankful for.
5. Having a Home
Even if you’re just renting, a home is something everyone should be grateful for.
After all, not everyone on the planet has a roof over their head. You don’t have to compare yourself to people who are living on the streets to realize how great having a home of your own is.
And regardless of your home’s size, knowing you have a place you can kick your shoes off and settle in for a nice evening at home is priceless.
6. Good Deed-Doers
Although we live in a crazy and often selfish world, there are tons of good people.
They make the world a better place by continuously doing good deeds. Deeds that don’t just benefit the recipients of those deeds, but everyone around as well.
And when it comes to good deeds, they don’t have to be huge acts of kindness.
It can be something small. Because to someone whose day needs brightening up, the smallest act of kindness can be something irreplaceable.
7. Good Memories
All of us have good memories to think back on and remember.
What would we do without them?
Good memories at least for me, always seem to overpower the bad ones. And regardless of how your life has gone so far, chances are good you have a ton of great memories to reflect on.
Plus, the longer we’re lucky enough to be on this earth, the more important those memories become to us.
As they simply become more valuable over time as there is always something to be thankful for.
8. Walks Through Nature
We live in a very fast-paced, hectic world.
But the good news is when we need to slow down, we can take a walk through the woods or the mountains.
Walking through nature helps us:
- Forget about the world
- Slow down a bit
- And appreciate some of the many simple things in life
Even listening to the rustling of the leaves as you’re walking along can create a calming sensation of peace and tranquility.
So, regardless of how stressed you are, get outside. Go and spend some time in nature. It will help you see there is always something to be thankful for in life.
9. The Chirping of the Birds
If you’ve never taken the time to really listen to the birds as they’re singing their songs in the morning, you owe it to yourself to do so.
The sound is relaxing and it’s cool to notice all the different chirps they make.
But if you want to have a different and even better experience, start looking at the birds themselves and noticing how many different types there are.
When done, you’ll appreciate these amazing creatures more and life.
10. Your Friends
Without friends, life would be almost meaningless.
Friends make life worth living.
A person can never have too many friends, and most people would agree this is true. But you don’t have to have dozens of friends for your life to feel worthwhile.
A few close friends and the numerous acquaintances you meet along the way will improve your life more than you know.
And studies have shown friends might even help you live longer.
Give Thanks Because Life is Short
As long as you have life, there is always something to be thankful for.
So no matter what you have or don’t have, give thanks.
There are many people in the graveyard who’d love to switch places with you. if when you’re alive, you’re already wealthy.
Because you still have time.
Time to do things you want. Time to change, love, heal, forgive and live a purposeful life.
