8 Fun Things to Do With Friends
You’ve got all the time in the world and want to hang out with some friends.
So you invite them over…
But you have no idea what to do. No problem!
Here’s a list of things to do with friends.
1. All Night Movie Marathon
Hit up a drive-in theater or watch some movies at home.
Grab some food or make some yourself. Bake a cake, prepare drinks, whether just soda or alcoholic beverages.
And gather around a bowl of popcorn or chips and binge all night.
Most of us already have access to streaming services. They’re pretty affordable at the moment.
2. Do a Weekly or Monthly Dinner
What’s better than a gathering of friends around a table full of delicious food you all brought over or cooked?
You can have a lot of fun teaming up and cooking meals together at a designated friend’s house. Or the food can all be cooked at each individual’s home.
And brought over to the dinner table at another friend’s house/apartment. But if weekly seems too excessive, try doing this monthly.
And if cooking isn’t your thing, have each friend order their favorite meals. Then you can all test out each other’s favorite dishes together.
Either way, this is a great way to form a bond around everyone’s favorite things combined: food and friends.
3. Have a Game Night
Whether you’re gathered around a gaming console, board games, or just plain old charades, game nights are one of my favorite things to do with friends.
A game night with you and your closest friends will create a competitive but fun night for you and your peers.
You can even raise the stakes for the winners and losers by placing bets. Or even issue a forceful dare should they lose the game.
Make things fun and lighthearted and keep the game competitive but not serious.
And don’t forget to include everyone’s favorite games so you have a bunch of different options when it comes to what game you should all play.
This keeps the night fun and ever-changing. And lets everyone get a chance to play their favorite game.
Keep the drinks, snacks, and a camera at hand for all of the goofy moments and memories you know you’ll want to remember.
4. Karaoke Night
Karaoke’s a popular hangout and activity for a reason.
It’s enjoyable, it’s relieving, and a fun activity both while sober or after a few rounds of drinks if that’s your thing.
There’s no better feeling than to let loose, whether or not you’re good at singing. I suck, but hey, we can’t all perform in sold-out arenas.
Karaoke allows you to do away with your inhibitions.
And go out and just have some fun. Plus, if you don’t feel like leaving the house, just rent a machine or invest in one.
The beauty of karaoke equipment is they’re portable, rentable, and are available in many different sizes.
So have a great night. Let loose and sing away your troubles with a night of karaoke.
5. Go For a Walk or Workout Together
What’s better than setting up a date to get in shape together?
Friends encourage one another to be the better versions of themselves. And they do these things together, not apart.
So why not have someone hold you accountable for sticking to your routine and making a difference in your life, health, and fitness-wise?
Working out alone is cool. But it’s better and more fun to switch it up with people that’ll encourage you to keep going.
There are so many different workouts you can do with your friends.
Whether at home or out in a gym.
6. Pack Some Things and Have a Picnic
A picnic is your outdoor version of a dinner party.
This activity is a fun activity for a group of friends that love the outdoors. Fresh air, nature walks, the sun, soft grass, and eating some good food with friends is priceless.
You can do this the classic way with a large blanket and a picnic basket. Or grab some take-out.
You can even just bring a few containers of food from home. You don’t need much.
Head to the park and create the perfect hangout spot with a speaker and some good music.
If you disapprove of dining on the ground, take it to the park benches and tables.
7. Throw a Beach Party
It’s no mystery why all kinds of people absolutely love the beach.
It’s a scenic, peaceful place.
And best of all, you can go to the beach during the day or at night. All you have to do is pick the time ambiance you’re looking for.
If you’re going out during the day, you can play some beach sports in the sand and get a good amount of sun.
And if you want to appreciate the quiet and calmness of the beach, go at night. Enjoy the soft sand on your feet as you listen to the waves crash.
But it doesn’t stop there. The beach presents a whole host of activities.
Swimming goes without saying, but there’s also building sandcastles, picnicking on the sand, dancing, beach volleyball, and so much more.
And if it’s winter or you don’t have a beach nearby, look for some local indoor activities.
8. Grab a Drink, Or Several
Drinking is one of the cheapest things you can do on this list.
But drinking at parties and places outside of your own home should be planned. Please stay safe.
Watch over your friends. Have a wingman and a designated driver who can for sure bring you home.
And make note this is the sort of thing you should do with a circle of close friends you can trust.
A better alternative would be to gather and drink at home. Especially by a nice fire or crystal clear night.
There Are so Many Different Things to Do With Friends
Hopefully, you found something you want to do with your friends on this list.
And if not, get creative.
There’s are so many different things you haven’t all done or experienced together yet. But these are some of my favorite things to do with friends.
Many of which are cheap. So grab some friends and make some new memories.
